I have been living in Perth for the last 2 years (from the UK) and definitely think the smaller, independent stores are the place Perth shines. Only one to add - Wild Lily Empire - has shops on Oxford Street in Leederville, in Nedlands, and in Northbridge. It is the best place to buy unique gifts and find gorgeous one-off jewelery. Me and my friends are always in there, after a few drinks in Leedy!! It's open in the evenings too so if you forgot someone' birthday, you can still get a present on the night of the party.
