Sadly, it’s no longer updated, but it’s still a small mine of information about obscure artists and reviews of songs. (The MP3s linked on the site are now non-existent but it’s still worth a read. After gaining what can only be called noteriety, she’s since collaborated with MIA, plastic little, Santogold etc. etc. Now she’s out with her own album titled ‘I Love You’, featuring the single ‘might like you better’. The song of course is in  your face sex sex sex, with the line from 1982 song ‘never say never’ “I might like you better if we slept together” kicking off the track. Shame Amanda’s lacks any of the depth that the orginal had, but then again that’s her shtick. If I were expecting depth and meaning in her album, I’m pretty sure I’d be fairly disappointed and do the pitchfork thing and give her a 2 (out of 10). However you really need to take Amanda as she comes (excuse the terrible pun) and just go with it. The track’s danceable, it’s feminine albeit fairly aggressively so, and it’s very in your face.

The album features Santogold, Spank Rock, lykke Li and the Cool Kids, and is co-produced by Diplo, XXXchange and Switch. Out on July 11th!

Im new here. Im Cale, a.k.a. Sleepyhead. Speaking of Kanye, with Drake, think of him as the 808′s and Heartbreaks version of Kanye, except he can actually sing. Okay so this is a shameless plug for my friends’ band, but they’re such nice guys so I gotta put the word out for them. They’re a local Perth band and have been around for a bit now playing a bunch of gigs. Their can be summed up as essentially epic, epic post rock. Okay, these guys fucking (can I swear on this blog?) ROCK. Tiny band out of Texas, they make kick ass rock music and they release a new cover of a song every month.
